Trust me, you do not have to worry about undertaking the preparation for your family photography session by yourself. I will be here to walk you through the planning process so that your session can be carefree, pleasant and dare I say fun!

Forming a plan for your lifestyle photography session

After you have decided to book your in home family photography session, we will schedule a brief FaceTime call. During this call, you will have a chance to see me and hear a little bit about how your session will flow. You will learn about what rooms I expect we will be using, what activities you can plan on participating in, ideas for wardrobe selections are discussed, and we can chat about any questions or special requests for your session. 

After our FaceTime call and receive your pics of your possible rooms, I will then create a session plan. I sketch out several posing ideas to incorporate into your family photography session. Yes, not only do I help you plan for your session, I am also planning ways to pose your family well before I even arrive at your home. Trust me, I come prepared to maximize every minute of your session. Having a game plan helps me create and smooth flowing session.

My Experience

Did I mention you could trust me? Well, let’s recap, we have already decided  what rooms we will be using for your session, you have your family’s outfits planned, you generally know what activities we will incorporate into your session, and I already have your poses planned all before I have stepped into your home. You can trust me to come prepared and ready to your session so that your family’s time is used in the most constructive way. After over three years as a lifestyle family photographer and countless hours of extended education and mentoring from other photographers, I will create ‘poses’ that will highlight your family’s chaos, calmness, joys, and playfulness. I will find the ordinary ways you and your spouse love on your children and create your story with your images.

Now, we let the fun begin by allowing your children to be in charge. Yes, you heard that right.I know we have already created a plan, but the session is ultimately determined by your children. I have almost ten years of experience as an early childhood educator and we all know that any plans made with children involved, need to be flexible. Trust me. We will be in the rooms in your home with the best light, you’ll be wearing clothes that are comfortable, but a little elevated, and your family will shine.

We will use those agreed upon rooms to allow your children to play, snuggle, read, cuddle, dance, jump, sing, bake, and engage with you, your spouse, and each other.
