Let’s take a closer look at an in home photography session with this wonderful family in their Fort Worth home! You might not believe this, but part of their home was actually under construction during this session!  They did not want to wait for their project to be finished and were very anxious to capture their boys at these ages. I was so excited to get to work and plan for this family session.

Planning the In Home Photography Session

When I was planning their session, I knew the areas we could use would be limited due to the construction and available natural light. With my client’s help, I was able to create a plan for their session and create different posing opportunities before I arrived.

Upon arrival at their home, I had the children show me around their house and I noted the awesome light coming through some of their windows, that is what I wanted to see!

For their family photography session, their youngest needed some time to adjust to me being there. This gave me the opportunity to focus on some intimate images with mom and her oldest son. Once their youngest saw what was happening and how things were working, he started to join in the session on his own accord.

One of the families favorite things to do is read books while snuggling together. This room was a great spot to create a relaxed setting and allow beautiful light to stream through their wonderful old windows.

Let’s Get Something Sweet!

Towards the end of the session the mom and I planned to allow her children to frost and decorate cookies. I think this was the highlight of their on home family photography session! It was super easy to plan ahead and it allowed a change of pace for the boys. 

I love incorporating what my clients families enjoy doing in every session. One of the parts of my conversation with in home photography session clients is to work out a plan to allow me to capture a fun activity you all enjoy doing together. I love to capture those sweet memories!
