Living in the Fort Worth metro area, it is not always easy to find an outdoor location that has a natural look. I discovered this field near Benbrook and it has been my most consistent location to shoot family sessions.
This field has the most beautiful sunrise and sunset opportunities because the trees, grasses, and shrubs can be used at either time of day. There are some locations that I can only shoot in the evenings or only shoot in the mornings due to distractions or obstacles.
For this family photography session, we met near sunset. We spent an hour playing chase, exploring little paths, playing hide and seek, singing songs, snuggling, and so much more. This little guy was full of curiosity and was always on the move. Some might think that makes a photography session difficult, but really this is my favorite scenario. I love to capture toddlers and preschool children’s energy and love for play, because that is what they are most excited about and it comes natural.
Mom planned the perfect outfit for herself, a classic a-line dress with a delicate print. I loved that the length of her dress allowed her to move, play, and sit with her family with ease. We kept her husband’s and son’s outfits causal, comfortable, and neutral which balanced perfectly with the natural location.
I could not have asked for a better session, a curious and energetic little one, engaging parents, perfect outfits, and beautiful light all combined to create a play filled, authentic, and heartfelt gallery.
