Celebrate your child’s milestones with studio portraits

What is a Milestone Session? Milestone sessions are simple, petite photography sessions for your child. I created Milestone Sessions out of a need for families to capture individual portraits of their children, at a certain moment in time. 

Milestone Photography Sessions allow you as the parent to decide what type of look your child’s sessions will have. Do you want to capture images of your child wearing their one and only favorite dress-up costume. Do want to capture your child who LOVES sports in their baseball uniform or ballet outfit?  Are you needing to capture sweet milestone images of your 9 month old or your one year old with their birthday hat?  Did your youngest just take their first steps, or do you need to update your family gallery wall images with a great new photograph of your child?

These scenarios are what a milestone session is for, you deciding what element of your child’s current stage needs to be captured. If it were me, I would have captured my oldest daughter in her cowboy boots and jeans to remember her time taking horseback riding lessons. I would have loved to use one of our child size play chairs and take my youngest daughter’s picture with it when she turned one. There are so many circumstances where a milestone session could be super helpful for you. 

There are no complicated sets, just a simple white studio background. My studio of choice is one of The Lumen Room Studios. you can take a look at the Lumen Room studio here. You are welcome to include your child’s favorite toy or sports related item. Also, there is no need for outfit changes, did I mention, these are simple?

Milestone Sessions are simple, child focused. They last for 15 minutes, which is the ideal amount of time for children to shine, and then move on to their next activity. Check out my gallery page for more examples of milestone sessions.
